A warm welcome to our website...

Our support group was formed in May 2000 with just 5 members who were just originally a small contact group meeting up for coffee.  We came together at my request to my GP to pass on my telephone number to other fibromyalgia patients.  I had been diagnosed 6 years before this and had come to the conclusion that there wasn’t much help out there for me and decided to help myself. As at June 2012 I have been a sufferer for almost 27 years

Our membership is currently almost 230 and everything has grown tremendously since that day in May 2000.   We have a fantastic and multi-talented Committee with many Member Volunteers to call on for extra help.  The necessities of administering a group and fundraising can be very demanding, particularly as we all have Fibromyalgia.

The main aims and objectives of our group are to offer free information and support to those diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, including carers, partners and friends.  We are also committed to raising awareness of the often devastating effects that fibromyalgia can have on a person’s life with all medical professionals and the general public.  We achieve this by holding awareness stalls, mostly during the summer months, at shows, carnivals and fetes being held across Northamptonshire.

Although Fibromyalgia is currently incurable and lifelong, it is not known to be life threatening but we encourage a positive attitude throughout the group as life is still liveable even if you have Fibromyalgia, it just has to be different.

We do hope you have found our web site of interest and helpful. We would like to thank our computer geek David and my Grandson Stephen for their contribution in getting this website up and running and also other fibro sufferers and groups for their valued contributions.

Please get in touch via the contacts given if you would like an information pack.
